Double Edged Sword

Me: "But I'm not you, I'm not God."
God: "Neither is he... so stop worshiping him."

-------------

When ppl break their promises to us.. do we break our promises to God?

-------------

"In your hearts, set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." (1 Peter 3:15)

Almost always we as Christians zealously rattle off the first half of this passage, not realizing that it is the second half that truly reflects the nature of Christ. All religions and beliefs encourage a quick and ready response to draw believers.. and yet so few share their faith and hope with true gentleness and respect.. what a beautiful passage, such revelation and depth. I love it, because I see Jesus so clearly in it ♥

----------

Brings to mind the passage that talks about how it is God's Kindness that draws us to repentance, to relationship with him.. not that he is gonna agree with everything we say or never let us walk thru the challenges of life.. but he promises to be a friend and to work all that he can as Father of a huge family for the good of all.. including us. Christ, our Brother, suffered much on our behalf and yet forgave.. how much ought we to do the same.. and yet, he holds us accountable and allows us to live with the consequences of our sin often times.. so should we hold those around us accountable in the same manner.. it is a delicate balance.. rules and law and truth that does not change, and yet, seasoned with the right amount of mercy and love.. that's why his Spirit is so essential to guide us in the timing of it all, in the balance and the working out of what is right and good.. God is so very present and active.. Satan lies so bad when he tries to convince us that we are alone or that God doesn't care. God does care.. about you.. every little thing.. know that today.. own that today.. and be blessed ♥
